Ah, the anticipation of Spring! We cannot wait for the weather to turn a new leaf, literally. The breeze, leaves, flowers, sun & colors, what not to like about Spring (except allergies)?
Well, this is the Easter weekend, the festival most associated with Spring and pastel colors. Traditionally speaking the colors of Easter were not always only pastels. Actually the association of pastels with Easter is contemporary and appeals to the senses as people (in most parts of the US) are desperately awaiting for Spring, following the looong winter months. The pastel colors remind people of the flowers, the clear blue skies, tender sunlight, and appeal to the senses.
As for the businesses, it means attracting customers and streamlining the products for maximum impact.
Anyways, Styling Sistas also get affected and we reach for the pastels to celebrate the symbolisms and excitements during Spring. In India, people usually welcome Spring with vibrant and vivid colors with the first festival of the season, Holi. But when in the US, we do as the USA fashionistas do, catch the pastel fever that is!
Arpi here is feeling the soothing periwinkle blue and white. Doesn’t she appear like a vision in periwinkle (wink!) She kept her styling looking easy, breezy, and definitely springy!
Tips: Tucking in your shirt, pointy toed shoes, showing more of the top of your foot and ankle areas will make your legs appear longer even if you are petite/short and want to pull off capri pants like a pro!
